Wedding Photography FAQ

How soon after our wedding will our photos be ready?

Within three or four weeks of your wedding, I’ll create a gallery of my favorite finished images, usually 30-40. Your photos will be finished within 6 weeks of your wedding. You will have a private online gallery on my website, with the option of it being password protected and completely private, or public for family and friends to see and download.

Do you reserve the right to publish the photos?

I prefer to; however, this is negotiable. I respect your privacy and I will never insist on retaining any right to publish photos of you. But I hope you’ll agree that your photos are amazing enough to share

Do you deliver every image you shoot?

No, we do not. On a typical wedding day, we will take about 2000 photos, but we eliminate duplicate images, test shots, missed focused shots, shots with bad expressions and other images that may dilute the overall product delivery. For example, it’s really hard to get a photo of a group of people with everyone’s eyes open and their mouths closed. So, out of that burst of photos, you’ll get 2, because in all the other photos people are blinking or talking or whatever they’re doing that isn’t what they should have been doing.

Can you fix things in the photographs?

I spend around a week finessing your images so as to get the very best from them during the processing. I will occasionally remove an unwanted feature from a shot or comp in a person’s eyes in a family formal but such things will be rare. My aim is to make you look your best in a natural way not to make you look plastic or fake so I steer clear of plastic fashion retouching.

How long does it take to get the album created?

After you receive your fully edited wedding gallery, we start to put together your favourites for the album. There is no set time for this as I want you to choose the ones you want without any pressure. Once the images are chosen and I have designed the album for you, it is sent off to be created. Different times of the year mean different wait times, but on average you can look at 3-4 weeks before the album arrives by post.

Can we ask you to photograph in a different style?

Photographing a wedding in a documentary style, I don’t photograph some things you may think are standard at a wedding. I like to concentrate on the natural, fun images of your day, which means I don’t photograph very many setup group pictures. I’m not a fan of cheesy wedding photography either. I’m sure we have all seen the pictures of a bride being picked up by the ushers like a fish, or all the groomsmen pretending to be shocked at the ring. It’s just not me and I like to keep things more natural, more real. So if you would like me to photograph a wedding like that and different to what I’m good at, my advice would be to book a photographer who specialises in that area. The reason – they are good at what they do and will give you better results if that’s your bag. But if you want more modern, natural wedding photography, I’m your guy.

When is the best time to book?

I recommend reserving your wedding date as soon as you decide that I’m the right wedding photographer for you. Booking early has the benefit of providing you with the ease of mind of having secured your preferred photographer, which means that you’ll have one less thing to worry about.

How many photos do I get?

It depends on which package you gone to chose. Usually from 100 (small, short wedding) up to 650 for full wedding day.

Do you have one or two photographers?

We have two photographers. Michael & Ola. Michael is typically the lead photographer, but Ola is often booked herself to shoot as lead photographer. Your lead photographer will be the one you will meet to discuss all your wedding photography plans and will be the one at the front of your ceremony with you as you make your vows. You will have a lead photographer and a second photographer. This means lots of angles, perhaps photos of the groom getting ready, more coverage of guests, and details on the day.

Do we get to meet you before the wedding?

We love to meet before the wedding! If you live pretty close to where we’re located we’d love to grab coffee and say hi! Otherwise we’d love to setup a video chat before hand to go over details and say hello.

How do we book you? Do I have to pay a booking fee, and when does the final payment need to be made?

To book just get in touch and if you like what we offer we will send you a contract and you would pay a deposit of 20% of the choosen package (non refundable) to secure your booking with us. We request that the outstanding balance is paid on wedding day.
